"My staff (at Sioux Trail Elementary) have been sharing about Headway's training sessions. Teachers come back from the trainings excited to try new strategies and they have new understanding regarding mental health issues. This is making a difference in their classrooms and helping them relate to students when they are struggling."

Jonah joined Headway in May, 2017 and has worked in the human services field since 2016.  He has previous experience working with students in the truancy office and special education department at a charter school in St. Paul, and also working with the LGBTQ community.  He speaks fluent Spanish and has experience working with the Latino/Spanish speaking population in their own language to help children and families make connections to needed resources in the community. He also has experience working with clients navigating court involvement, foster care, and the special education system.  "I think forming relationships with the families I work with is one of the most important aspects of this work, because it helps me better support families to be the best possible version of themselves that they can be, so that they can be empowered to succeed in every area of their lives," he says.

In Jonah's spare time, he enjoys running, playing piano, reading and writing poetry, and learning additional languages.
