"My staff (at Sioux Trail Elementary) have been sharing about Headway's training sessions. Teachers come back from the trainings excited to try new strategies and they have new understanding regarding mental health issues. This is making a difference in their classrooms and helping them relate to students when they are struggling."

Katelyn has worked at Headway since 2010.  In the past seven years, she has spent time in South Korea teaching English to students there, and also went to San Francisco to gain experience working with adults suffering from chronic chemical dependency, homelessness, and mental health concerns.  As a case manager, she helps children and families find the resources and support they need to reach stability and equilibrium.  She is a strong advocate for the children and families that she works with and enjoys helping them to grow to be their own advocates.  "I love that every day is a different experience, and that I am able to learn about new resources everyday that I can share with my clients to help support them," she says.  "It is rewarding to see families go from a state of crisis to working as a team together."

Katelyn enjoys spending time with animals and being around them as much as possible.  She believes that animals are a great stress reliever and that they make every day better.
