Betsy joined Headway in July, 2017 and has worked in the human services field for more than 20 years in clinical and managerial positions.  She has worked with families and individuals of all ages and specializes in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Hypnosis.  "I enjoy being an active listener and asking lots of questions," she says.  "I enjoy mentoring my supervisees and being a resource to them."

Laura joined Headway in August of 2013. She has worked in the human services field since 2003 and has a wide variety of clinical and management experience. Before coming to the Twin Cities, she most recently launched and managed a successful clinical program for at-risk youth and their families in Kodiak, Alaska. Laura enjoys clinical work, as well as providing supervision. “I aim to inspire my team to cultivate a culture of respect, understanding and lifetime-learning,” she says. “My goal is to provide our therapists with all they need to accomplish their goals and meet the needs of our clients.”

When Laura is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, as well as hosting dinner parties and game nights.

Alisabeth joined Headway in August, 2016 and has worked in the human services field since 2006.  Most recently, she provided in-home therapy services to children, adolescents, couples, and families, and have experience working with all ages.  She specializes in working with Narrative therapy and Solution Focused therapy and likes to help guide her clients in the process of telling their stories.  "I enjoy that no day is ever the same when you are working with clients," she says.  

When Alisabeth is not at work, she loves to travel and calls herself a "citizen of the world."  She also loves to read all types of books and watch documentaries.

Charlie has been in the addiction/mental health field for more than 35 years and with Headway since 2000. He works with all populations we serve: children ages 11-18, families, couples and adults, but his specialties include helping those suffering from addiction, sexual abuse and domestic violence. He has joined our Dialectical Behavioral Therapy team (DBT) and uses cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnosis as well. His goal is to help clients and colleagues bring their assets to every situation they encounter. “Families and individuals who can communicate effectively and master their emotions and thoughts can bring hope and healing to any circumstance,” he says.

Charlie is married and enjoys bird watching, tennis and volunteering in the community to help people affected by substance abuse.

Debbie joined Headway in 2012 after 12 years in the mental health field. As an outpatient therapist, she helps adolescents dealing with domestic violence, sexual abuse, overcoming trauma, forensic testing and therapy, court appointed witness, Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other mental health needs. “ I help individuals and families who are open and ready for therapeutic change in order to live and maintain a healthier lifestyle,” she says.

In her spare time, Debbie enjoys taking kickboxing and Zumba classes, traveling, attending concerts, musical theater, watching football, shopping, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Emmanuelle joined Headway in September, 2017 and has worked in the human services field since 2013. She specializes in DBT, CBT, working with self-harming adolescents and their families, neurological assessments, and psychological assessments. “I work with individuals and families that are struggling and help them to discover new approaches and ways of interacting that transform their lives,” she says.

In her free time, Emmanuelle enjoys cooking for herself and baking for others, as well as being cozy under a blanket with a fictional book and her dog at her feet.

Eowyn has been in the mental health field since 2001. She has held several positions with Headway, starting as an intern in the Vision program and has worked in a therapist postion since July, 2012.  As a therapist, she works with children, adolescents and adults to help them develop insight and overcome obstacles to their personal development.  She has experience with Adlerian Play Therapy and has training on incorporating the body into the healing process with trauma, such as using trauma informed yoga and yoga calm.  She also has past experience providing services to adults with SPMI.  "As a therapist I love getting to see clients grow and live fuller lives," she says.  "it is always an honor to be a part of someone's healing process."

Outside of work, Eowyn enjoys practicing yoga, gardening, and spending time with her friends and husband.  She is also a community faculty member at Metro State University and teaches Ethics and Diversity to Psychology majors.

James has been with Headway since August, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2013. He has past experience working with clients with trauma and substance use disorders in community mental health, forensic, and VA settings, as well as adult and emerging adult populations with primary mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. As a Therapist, he provides mental health therapy for adult and adolescent clients; he is also interested in engaging in outreach and treatment for people experiencing homelessness, as well as substance abuse populations. He also has an interest in social justice and equality, and is passionate about participating in and helping to create efforts to further those causes.

Outside of work, James is the father of a three-year-old daughter. He is also an amateur gymnast, bodybuilder, and singer.

Kali has been with Headway since May, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2014. Molly has been with Headway since June, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2016. As a therapist, she enjoys the opportunity to create meaningful relationships with her clients, and be a part of their journey. She works with all populations, but has a special love of working with children, teens, and young adults, and has past experience working with clients with a range of diagnoses from depression to anxiety to personality disorders. She is QPR-model trained for suicide prevention, and utilizes mindfulness and CBT with many of her clients. She wants to be able to advocate and be a part of the change for her clients when they express concerns about a lack of resources or communal support. "I enjoy being able to meet unique individuals and hear their story, and be a part of their journey," she says. "It is like nothing else to see someone transform before your eyes."

When she is not working, Molly likes to spend time outdoors disc golfing, finding new dining and shopping destinations, and learning new cooking techniques.

Nicole received her Master’s in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School in May, 2014 and joined Headway in July, 2014. Prior to Headway, Nicole provided counseling for individuals, couples, and families at Pillsbury House Integrated Health Clinic. She also has experience facilitating equine assisted activities with groups for therapeutic purposes. She works with clients of all ages and incorporates techniques from experiential, cognitive behavioral, emotionally focused, and dialectical behavioral therapy in her practice. “I believe the therapeutic relationship is an integral part of therapy and I work collaboratively with clients to help them let go of that which doesn’t serve them and find strengths and solutions within themselves,” she says.

Noureen has worked in the human services field since 2008 and joined Headway in September, 2013. She has previous experience working with clients who have a dual diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness and chemical dependency, and also clients with mental illness, senior issues, youth issues, chemical health issues, domestic violence, grief and loss, sexual abuse/sexual assault victims and trauma issues. Sue has worked in social service agencies since 1995.  She has received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and is part of the DBT Consultation Team at Headway.  Her practice draws heavily from Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  She enjoys working with clients of all ages and who present with a wide range of concerns.  “My work as a DBT therapist allows me to directly assist clients in learning important skills necessary to create a life worth living,” she says.  “I bring my professional expertise and compassion coupled with an empathetic style that allows clients to experience the comprehensive benefits therapy provides.  I collaborate with clients to guide them towards positive change.”

In her free time Sue is a member of a gourmet cooking club.  She enjoys crafting and sewing as well as spending time with family and friends.
