"My staff (at Sioux Trail Elementary) have been sharing about Headway's training sessions. Teachers come back from the trainings excited to try new strategies and they have new understanding regarding mental health issues. This is making a difference in their classrooms and helping them relate to students when they are struggling."

Rachel has been with Headway since September, 2018 and has worked in the human services field since 2015. She has past experience working with youth aged four to 18, and has also worked with families. As a case manager, she helps children and their guardians navigate through resources and provide them with the tools necessary for empowerment by developing genuine, trustworthy relationships with each client. She uses strengths-based and harm-reduction approaches as two of her guiding social work principles. \"I am passionate about the empowerment of our youth,\" she says. \"I believe in a comprehensive approach toward helping clients reach their full potential. Children are resilient and powerful beyond even their own understanding; it is my hope that I can help children identify and develop their strengths over time.\"

When she is not working, Rachel is a diehard Minnesota Lynx fan. She enjoys watching and playing sports, specifically basketball and soccer. She has recently developed a love of cooking and baking, and loves to knit. She loves to spend time with her family, keep up with social justice issues, and be actively involved in our democracy.
