“Michael had no long term horizon, didn’t care about anything, was disengaged and had no foundation to start the recovery journey… Today he is a productive senior in HS involved in extra-curricular activities and thinking about college. (Headway) gave us traction, a positive track record of real accomplishments and new beginning.”

Rebecca has been with Headway since September, 2016 and has worked in the human services field since 2013. During the 2016-2017 school year, she was an intern therapist at our Day Treatment program, and over the summer worked briefly in the partial hospitalization program at Prairie-Care as a clinical social worker. She also has experience providing school social work services at MNIC Charter High School and also worked as a case manager at the Bridge for Youth for three years. She is trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques including CBT, DBT, and trauma therapy. She is also proficient in Spanish and has experience working with immigrant Latino populations. “I hope to be an advocate and partner to families and the school community in regard to children’s mental health,” she says. “I strive to give a voice to children who are often unheard, and teach them skills to have more power and control over their own safety, happiness, and wellbeing.”

Rebecca was recently married and she enjoys doing outdoor activities with her husband including camping, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, snowboarding, and cross country skiing. She also likes to travel and visit both new places and her family, who live all over the United States.
