Anoka -Hennepin

A Little About Abbie’s Role

Abbie joined Headway in August 2013 and has worked in human services since 2009. She has clinical experience providing therapeutic services to children and families in school, outpatient, in-home, and day treatment settings. She specializes in working with trauma, developmental repair, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and solution-focused therapy. As Coordinator, School-Based Therapy, she provides leadership, training, clinical supervision, and support to her team of therapists working with children and families in a school setting. She enjoys supporting her team in bringing more awareness to student mental health needs, and supporting strong partnerships between therapists and school communities in order to positively impact the functioning of the student and the larger system surrounding them. “Our school-based team does amazing work throughout the Anoka-Hennepin school district with students and families, and I am thrilled to be in a position to reinforce that work and outreach,” she says.

When she is not working, Abbie loves to travel and spend time with her family. She enjoys running, skiing (water, downhill, and cross-country), and spending time outdoors.
