Nergis has worked in the human services field since 2008 and joined Headway in August, 2013 as a therapist in the school-based program.  She joined the Vision team in May, 2015.  She has 15 years involvement in school systems and various school boards and worked at a day treatment facility prior to starting at Headway. She specializes in groups, CBT, emotionally focused therapy and positive therapy.  As the supervisor of the Vision program, she provides guidance and clinical support to her team, and encourages healthy communication, collaboration and self care.  "I am excited to be part of a unique and progressive therapy and education model which provides services for students in the classroom," she says. 

Outside of work, Nergis teaches yoga and fitness classes, travels, reads, sees live music concerts and theater, and supports her kids and their activities and interests.

Callie joined Headway in August, 2017 and has worked in the human services field since 2013. She has previous experience working with children, adolescents, and families and also specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She is excited to be working with children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, teaching foundational coping skills and helping them with behavior management. “I enjoy the energy that young children bring with them and their curiosity,” she says.

Outside of work, Callie enjoys outdoor activities, such as running, biking, walking, and swimming. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and reading books.

Ingrid joined Headway in August, 2017 and has worked in the human services field since 2014. She has previous experience working with at-risk and EBD youth from age four to age 17, and also has worked with children in treatment foster care. She is very excited to be working at a middle school combining her passion for working with EBD youth and working at a school. “I believe that education is very important and I look forward to being able to help create a safe and welcoming environment that my clients are not only able to learn in, but also thrive in,” she says.

In her free time, Ingrid really loves to be in social situations, whether that is having a board game night with friends or grilling out with family and friends. She also enjoys being outdoors, attending concerts, participating in trivia nights, and supporting her friends who are in the arts.

Kim joined Headway in August, 2017 and has worked in the human services field for nearly 20 years. She has her elementary school teaching license and worked previously in Washoe County Public Schools in Reno, NV, and also at Lusher Charter School in New Orleans, LA. She plans to establish trust with her clients and help the students find the motivation and inner strength to lead successful lives. “Working with kids is meaningful and one day is never the same as the last,” she says.

When Kim has free time, she likes to read novels—especially fantasy and children’s literature. She also likes to play volleyball and spend lots of her time with her preschooler.

Lyndsie has worked in the human services field since 2008 and joined Headway in January, 2018.  She works with children and families in the Vision Early Childhood Special Education Program at Pond Family Center.  She utilizes the experiential modality of play therapy with children to offer them a way to communicate about their internal world.  She enjoys working with children and families and believes that it is important to work with the family system as a whole in order for everyone to function better.  "I am passionate about exploring creative and experiential means to bring about emotional healing for children, adolescents, and families," she says.  "I am interested in opening space for other types of self expression to facilitate healing such as drawing, painting, play, and sand tray therapy."

When Lyndsie is not at work, she enjoys many outdoor activities like cross-country skiing, biking, camping and hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail, running, and swimming.  She also likes to cook ad spend time with her family and friends.

Melanie joined Headway in August, 2015 and has worked in human services since 2005.  She has experience working with children of all ages in a day treatment setting, and has worked with adults with SPMI issues in the past.  She has competencies in CBT, solution focused therapy, anxiety and depression, and PTSD.  She works with adolescents in the Vision program to help them improve their daily functioning in school and in their home lives by offering support, building relationships, teaching coping strategies, and assisting families in determining how to improve their lives.

In her spare time, Melanie enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, bicycling, hiking, and photography.

Nick joined Headway in August, 2017 and has worked in the human services field since 2002. Prior to joining the Vision team at Headway, he worked in the Bloomington Public Schools as a behavior intervention specialist in an elementary school and has also been a teacher in a third grade classroom and a fourth grade classroom, as well as serving as an elementary school counselor. He is excited to work with a small group of students and their families—seeing their growth as he works alongside them to foster their skills to help them throughout their daily challenges and joys. “There is nothing better for me than seeing children learn, grow, and be successful in their lives,” he says.

When Nick is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, his family, and his friends. He also likes to watch the Cubs play baseball, travel, and experience new things through people, food, and culture.

Sherri has worked in the human services field for more than 20 years and joined Headway in March, 2016.  She has an extensive background in education and counseling, including working as a Educational Coordinator and Instructor, an EBD Para Professional at a high school and as a vocational counselor and case manager for at-risk youth.  As a Vision Mental Health Specialist, she works with EBD students at an elementary school and provides mental health services to the students and their families.  "I am thrilled to be a caring adult in the lives of students and their families and to help connect them to community resources," she says.  "I hope to build strong families and provide individual time, attention, and help to those in need."

When Sherri is not working, she enjoys running, biking, traveling and spending time with family.  She is also a foster parent for Golden Retrievers until they find their forever homes.

Tristann has been with Headway since March, 2018 and has worked in human services since 2012.  She has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, and is excited about building strong therapeutic relationships with students and families to support them in identifying their strengths.  She provides group and individual psychotherapy, leads skills-based groups for high school students, and works with her clients' family systems in order to assist them in being successful in school, at home, and in their future.  "I hope to provide a safe, judgment-free space to meet the unique needs of each student in order to assist them in strengthening their self-esteem and identity", she says.

In her spare time, Tristann enjoys reading, spending time outside, yoga, hiking, and spending time with family.
